Bethany Serafin Awalt, DMD, PA

Dr. Bethany Serafin Awalt is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and the owner of Valley Village Oral Surgery Associates. She is known for her calm, compassionate approach and her commitment to helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their surgical care.

Dr. Awalt completed her dental education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine after earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating magna cum laude. She went on to complete advanced hospital-based training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Woodhull Medical Center in New York City, where she gained extensive experience in complex surgical care and anesthesia.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Awalt provides a full range of oral and maxillofacial surgical services, including tooth extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, management of oral pathology, and outpatient anesthesia. She is especially dedicated to patient safety and takes the time to explain treatment options clearly, answer questions thoroughly, and tailor care to each individual’s needs.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Awalt has served as a clinical instructor and professor at several universities, helping to train future dentists and surgeons. She remains actively involved in advancing her profession through leadership roles and continuing education and currently serves as an Anesthesia Evaluator for the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. She also holds hospital privileges at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

Dr. Awalt has been recognized as a Baltimore Magazine Top Dentist for many years and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She has participated in international surgical missions providing care to underserved communities and remains committed to giving back through local volunteer dental programs.
